I've been pretty much ignoring the scale, but got on it this morning out of curiosity. I know weight fluctuation in pregnancy is totally normal and many women go through spurts of growth and stuff, but I find this odd. at my last doctor appointment (two weeks ago Thursday), I weighed half-a-pound less than I did three weeks prior (126.5... I was 127 three weeks earlier). the doctor said we shouldn't worry, but that it's just something to take note of and monitor. since many of my clothes are feeling noticeably tighter (or aren't fitting at all), I wanted to see what my little digital scale said now. 127.5. which means, in my 26th week, I've only gained about 15 lbs though I'm starting to feel and look pretty big, and the scale seems to indicate that my weight has more or less stayed the same over the past month while my body feels like it's changed dramatically. 'healthy' is supposed to be roughly 25-35 lbs for the whole pregnancy, and I know there's plenty of time to gain the appropriate amount but it still feels so weird to look at the scale and not relate to what it's telling you. I think I'd be more concerned if I felt the baby wasn't growing or something, but I can tell by the way she moves that she's getting bigger. case in point, at 4am she woke me up and jabbed me so hard I almost shrieked, and I could feel where she started and ended in a way I hadn't really been able before. I'm eating enough food, I'm certain, but maybe I'm not eating well enough or something to give us both enough nutritive substance (especially when she's taking the good stuff to grow herself... greedy little thing!). have any of you other moms experience this kind of thing?
p.s. I'm trying to finish cleaning house and organizing some things and it's one of those days in which discipline and sustained effort are hard to locate. boo!

I'm gonna make you read this out loud to me in 5 weeks.
Haven't had time to read your earlier posts but this title caught my eye.
If you're really concerned, call your doctor and I'm sure they could have you come in for a growth scan. But I think the fact that your belly is changing tells you what you need to know. Do you know how to measure your fundal height -- if that is close to average for your point then I think that's a good sign too.
It was later in my pregnancy, but in my third trimester I actually lost some weight. They told me that the baby was taking up so much room it made me feel fuller than I was so I didn't eat as much.
I really think you're just fine, but if you're going to lose sleep, call an expert.
I was the same way, Luci. I only gained about 14-15 pounds until I hit my 30th week. Then I gained another 14 during the last 10 weeks....and then I lost a couple towards the end just like Brandy. I went several weeks in my 2nd trimester without gaining more than a few ounces. My doctor said it was completely normal...and I always asked because I was concerned. I agree with Brandy. If you feel worried, I would ask your doctor.
I feel and look humongous to myself, but have only gained about 10 lbs. No one seems concerned when my weight doesn't dramatically jump, so I wouldn't worry. But I agree with Brandy--if you have questions, call your doc.
