showers and baths

I'm so behind it's laughable. oh well! here are some shots of the shower we threw for the mcDs. it was tons of fun and so great to get to honor this family:

and to trigger your 'awwww!' reflex, here's my 'bitty sitting up in the tub like the big girl she is (7 months already! what the!):

she's big on waving right now to everyone and everything, which is fairly precious. like, we walk into the kitchen in the morning and her face brightens as she waves, 'hi room! you're so awesome!'. since Sunday, she's also peek-a-booing with blankets/her shirt, what-have-you, which completely slays me... I got video of this tonight, which I'll post as soon as I get myself more together than I am right now. we're battling sickness over here, plus we got a new computer that doesn't quite have all of the 'stuff' switched over from the old one. meh. I mean, yay for the new computer! I'm currently plunking on the old one, since I uploaded the pics over here... it's pretty slow and the beach ball of doom pops up every now and again to freak you out and threaten a Big Freeze, but ye old black macbook still works somewhat okay as long as you aren't doing anything important, and aren't trying to access some of the utilities or open itunes, both of which are apparently the kiss of death.

more photos to upload from this past weekend's trip to Abilene, but pleasant dreams for now, all!

photos from the weekend...

first off, we're about to outgrow these killer, adorable pjs:

I know. the little pandas on the feet send the whole thing over the edge.

now that Magz is rolling over, she's loving holding herself up and kicking around. I know she'll be mobile before we know it. gack!

we went to the Renaissance Festival with the Franks and had a really good time. observe a few of the snapshots I got:

turkey leg!

margaretann at the beginning of the day. bring it.

tee-hee. jesters.

pretzels and a knight!

pretzels and more knights!

scary:

taking it all in:

I love the surreal quality of the weird tall men:

wild. and yes, this man had breasts. please, we saw it all out there.

this was a sweet scene I observed while discreetly feeding the baby on a nearby bench. a somewhat crusty-looking man was lounging under this tree, and then he was pounced upon by two adorable little girls:

surfing on daddy's tummy:

face painting = white hot. that's my hat-hair btw, don't judge.

happy with auntie tricia:

bellydancers!

Franks!

Bellz!

by day's end, we had one pooped baby on our hands.

and since we obviously have a soft spot for photographing delicious sleeping babies around here, this was a deep, deep, long Sunday nap, the kind you wake up from flushed and grumpy:

I had the thought to write my to-do list for the week - or at least my goal list - but just thinking about it makes me yawn. oh well. :)

spending time...

here are some photos depicting ways we spent our last weekend as people without a baby:

driving the cart at Central Market. I admit, I might miss the motor carts!

hubz, intent on zipping around town and gettin' it done:

recycling:

visiting with the Houston Dairymaids @ t'afia... they have the best cheese:

midtown farmer's market:

stopping by Spec's downtown to pick up some M.F. Grape Jones Soda:

making a trip to 406 to pick up some straggling stuff:

tasty Sunday lunch with good friends @ Fadi (I also requested Kam's Indonesian Chicken & Tofu for dinner last night)... it should also be noted that church was so good for me this weekend, and our lesson (by Caleb, @ the head of the table) about being a confessional people really touched me:

and during the course of the weekend, we watched the first season and three eps into the second of this HBO series:

it's pretty racy. and gory. and highly addictive. I think the vampires in this show are way scarier than the ones in Twilight.

so we're headed to the dr.'s office this morning for another general checkup/stress test for the baby, we plan on eating Niko Niko's for lunch, hitting M's eye doctor for a checkup (he scratched his cornea last week!), and then back here to take care of any last minute business before heading to the hospital tonight. if all goes according to plan, I'll be induced tomorrow morning and we'll have a baby by sundown. between the coming hospital experience, mine & the baby's health, and family on the road traveling here we appreciate all of your prayers so much!
