we trooped out to Typhoon Village for the day armed with our backpack of frozen water bottles and sandwiches, and had a really good time playing in the sun. the park was a great size and the lines were fast. Mo really enjoyed the kids area, and had a lot of fun with the little geysers there. she went (mostly willingly) down a bigger slide over by the surf pool, but as she slid down she flipped around and hit the pretty intense water at the bottom head first, which totally freaked her little soul out. as she clutched onto my brother and cried, we just kept telling her how brave she was to try a new thing with the bigger kids. my husband and brother did the fast, straight-down-the-chute slides, but L and I were more comfortable with the gentler, windy ones. the men all enjoyed venturing way out in the big surf pool a lot and the family raft ride was great, but I think collectively we all liked the two and three seater tube chutes,
the Crush 'n' Gusher, the best. (it's actually behind us in some of these pictures) waaaaaaaay fun. when we finally looked up and realized it was late afternoon, we bundled up our stuff and headed to Pizzeria Uno for delicious gorgonzola & walnut salads and deep dish pizza. and then went home, took showers, and passed out. this was the one day I went without a shirt over my suit and my shoulders got a little toasty... it's been so long since I've had any sort of sunburn, and even though this wasn't even a really bad one it made me cautious for the rest of the trip. I know it's dorky of me and I'll forever be that crazy lady with a big floppy hat, but as much as I feel good in the sun and love being outside God made me pale and freckled. I don't want to prematurely age. vanity!! I also don't want skin cancer. so, before we headed to Cocoa Beach the next morning, we stopped at the local Publix for more SPF 50 children's no tears sunblock, because it rules.
and speaking of ruling, Publix does. we appreciated that grocery store so much while we were there. the prices were great and we liked their store brand a lot.

looking at the water in these pictures makes me want to head to the nearest swimming pool for a cool-down.

p.s. we spotted the spitting image of Wolverine at Brothers Taco Stand this morning. for real, he'd made a very strong grooming commitment to show his love of the character. long live the die-hard fan.

As I was looking through your pictures, I was thinking the same thing. Jumping in a nice, cool pool would feel so good right now. I am so glad you had such a wonderful time with family. Morgan is absolutely adorable!
