I give you January, at-a-glance:
SOMEBODY learned to sit up in early January before her 6-month checkup:
and there was no stopping her after that.
With M, I was so good about following directions to the letter when it came to solid foods. It's true what they say about second children... I'm just not worried about much, and because I'm generally more confident in breastfeeding R's solid food intake has been sort of here&there. She's been an easy and very eager eater, though, and whenever I put her in the booster she's into eating whatever I give her and dropping playing with spoons and sippys and whatever else I put on her tray. Now, in mid-March, I realize she seems to consistently need more to feel full so I'm being more intentional about making sure she at least has 2 table meals a day, if not three. The only thing she hasn't been crazy about so far is peas.
we paid a visit to miss R one day at her new office. because we love her.
after which we went to the park. we've spent a good bit of time at this park lately (Godwin Park), and really like it.
big girl.
lunching.
mama had a no-comb day.
not the best photo, quality-wise, but I remember how I felt when I took it. I'm so thankful for the new faces to our band in this photo, and for those who are old and dear friends. our small group is very important to me, and I'm so grateful for the community and opportunity for growth it provides. my time at church is usually spent being active and doing, and 242 provides me a time to catch up with people, pass my baby around (see miss E below), and be a part of a learning community. I'm grateful for those who've facilitated it, especially as it's morphed to become part of of the fabric of each week. It can be a little chaotic with kids running around and who knows what, and sometimes I feel like I stretch the good-will of our children, but being here - hanging out with other families and our fantastic single friends - is vital for me. the people in this group help to make me feel emotionally and spiritually supported.
Unapologetically Becoming a Mess-Maker:
headbands for everyone.
park again. she gets braver and tries new things every time, and that's my favorite part.
one evening, when R was all, "hey y'all, why would we sleep when we can all hang out and party until midnight?!"
6-month doctor visit.
I was in the kitchen and heard a sound coming from the playroom.... Ru had scooted over, found a mallet, and was going to town. prodigy.
cookie.
skater.
on the way to the metroplex to hang out with cousins while mama works.
marmee is an essential part of things when we all troop up to Aunt L & Uncle Kev's house.
must go get ready for work. again, I find joy in reliving months this way. February's post might be a bit different and have a few more words, as I had some interesting things happen and read a couple of books that invigorated and woke me up a bit. I'm looking forward to writing about it.
love. m.y.
