so give up the goods. for real, y'all. what do you feed your families in a pinch? like, what's your go-to I-can-totally-throw-this-down-in-a-flash-and-the-kids'll-eat-it meal? mine is, without a doubt, pasta plus frozen veg. I'll grab a handful of any kind of pasta, toss it in boiling water, add some frozen broccoli or peas, and toss the whole thing in a little butter and maybe some parmesan (or separate out the broccoli and toss the pasta in spaghetti sauce) and Magz will always, always eat it. heck, I'll always eat it.
I'm open to new ideas, so let's hear 'em.
we were on our own tonight, since M had to work. it's no secret that my husband does most of the cooking around here... mostly because he's really good at it. I felt pretty accomplished with the following (especially knowing that I'd have to confess it to the fitness app on my phone)... roasted carrots, brown rice, fresh green beans tossed in a little olive oil, butter & salt (not pictured, dessert of applesauce-Magz and yogurt/honey/flaxseed-mama):

That looks really yummy. Especially for a quick meal. David isn't home for dinner about 75% of the time so frozen chicken nuggets and a frozen veggie end up being Madison's dinner more times than I care to admit. A slice of ham with veggies is high up on the list too.
K won't eat pasta of any kind so my go to is yogurt and any type of fruit.
Outside of go-to choices like turkey hot dogs or mac and cheese (or Chik-fil-a as she bows her head in shame...), Eleanor really likes most steamed vegetables (that we buy frozen when out of season). She also loves yogurt (we use Yoplait light in a 4oz size with fiber), pancakes are super easy to whip up with a Hodgeson Mills or Bisquick mix and she'll eat most meats (pork chops seem to be a favorite). Oatmeal is a good quick and filling meal too, steel cut or instant.
