* breakfast and conversation at the T's Saturday morning. I LOVE going over to their house, and it was good to spend the morning with them and our friend B.
* girls night Saturday night. from start to finish, I needed that, ladies. Hobby Lobby, to Bucca di Beppo, to decaf and ice cream brownie-time at the house. racy. awesome.
* discovering polenta! specifically, this one, Estancia Organic Polenta:

it was super fast, easy to make, and so good - M cooked it in chicken broth and added fresh parmesan cheese and red pepper. we had it as a side to some green beans and brussel sprouts the other night, and have since been spooning the leftovers, dollop by dollop, into a sausage and vegetable soup I made. love this polenta, no joke.
* fresh baked bread! I came home and found my breadmaker on the counter. I used to buy those breadmachine boxes, but haven't made bread that way in forever, mostly because the breadmachine is pretty big and our counter space is precious as it is. M started looking up recipes and learning about how the thing works, and has made 2 loaves of basic white bread so far, one on the fast 1 hr setting and one on the 3 hr setting. water, flour, sugar, salt, yeast... um, and something else. DELICIOUS.

while I was at Hobby Lobby looking at fabric options for the fellowship hall, I got this text from him: "we. are. never. buying. bread. again." :)
* Sunday church. because I like our Bible class, the singing was great, and I love hearing my friends sing around me.
* Sunday night excursion. we left the house, rolled down the windows, and headed down 45 to walk around Conn's, Home Depot, and Lowe's. I have to tell you, I loved having my hair whipped around by the wind, and sticking my arm out the window to feel the force of it as we tooled down the highway. gorgeous evening. we've been talking about things we'll need for the house eventually, and it was fun to dream and price things out, to look at doors and paint colors. and fun to leave without spending anything.
have a good Monday, everyone.
