we're on the couch

watching the DVRd Oscars.

m.y.: oh my gosh, look at Angelina Jolie's crazy amazing jewelry. that green is gorgeous.

husband: I just wish she wasn't so gross. she's gross to me. she's too thin.

m.y.: (beat) I love you.

a note to the director of this year's show... when you're honoring those no longer with us, just set the camera to record in one place and leave it there so I can see the people you're honoring. I don't care about Queen Latifa singing old torch songs or the awesome, never-ending swooping in and out of your award show cinematography that actually made it hard to see some of the footage and read the captions. I just want to see the people who've passed away. clearly. give them - and us - the moment. thank you.

I thought the same thing! The singing was nice but I didn't need to see it. I was squinting trying to see the captions.
