april - a retrospective.

magz has gone through pretty consistent phases of wanting to play family, where she's the baby and the rest of us take turns playing moms, dads, big sisters, and grandmas.  exhibit A: 'the big sister' reading to 'the baby':

I took the girls to hico for a weekend!  it was great.  here they are dog piling pawpaw:

they were exceptionally good travel companions:

we went to the arcade fire concert with some friends+family:

we hit the zoo three times this month!  that's amazing for us.

we're loving our backyard this year.

the seder meal made quite the impression.  this was my answer to continued questioning about the plagues - a coloring book.  Magz dictated the name (except for the book of Exodus part, that was me):

this happened - magz' first pedicure with mama.

mgb and I out on anniversary date night.  we went to indika and ended up at agora for coffee and hang out/jukebox time.

seedlings on easter morning!  I love this class.

we had another easter hunt that afternoon with our friends & neighbors:

I went on my first weekend ladies retreat.  like, ever, I think.  I was grateful for it.

and came home to sandy girls whose cool dad helped them make a little flower garden.

march.  so long ago.

at the rodeo parade with friends:

242ers, please note the little dog with the maracas.  yes, my girls play with it.  the white elephant christmas gift that gives all year round!  'mamacita... donde esta Santa Claus?'

at the Lorde concert.  who, by the way, was fabulous and terribly self-possessed for a teenager.

celebrating akwan's birthday karaoke-style.  I have to say, something I really appreciate about mgb is how GAME he is for just about anything.  be karaoke people for a night?  sure, where's the song list!    I'm pretty sure that's what the apostle Paul meant when he said "I have become all things to all people in order to win some"...

first time eating at radical eats.  we've been there four times since.

coffee and hot tea afterward, because our children are at grammy and opa's and we could stay out all night if we wanted.  we actually went home after this and I'm pretty sure we were asleep by midnight.
